How is LASIK traditionally done?

The outer part of the eye is called the cornea which is the most powerful part of the eye.  Changing the shape of the cornea can make someone’s vision better and stronger. The cornea and lens must let in light rays and focus on the retina to receive a clearer vision.

There are two steps that the best LASIK surgeons will follow to help patients achieve their vision goals:

Step 1: The surgeon will make a slit at the corneal tissue and pull it back for reshaping access.

Step 2: Then, a high-quality laser can fix the vision issue by manipulating the corneal tissue. Once finished, the flap is placed back to the original place so that the patient’s eyes can recover.

How Does Technology Differ?

An ultra-fast laser is used to cut the corneal flap instead of an actual blade. Next, the procedure continues on with a “cool” excimer laser to reshape the cornea, and the cornea flap will go back to place. This is why All laser LASIK is known for being bladeless. It is also called Bladeless LASIK or Bladefree LASIK.

How Does Excimer Laser Work?

Our LASIK surgeons in Los Angeles can perform a procedure called “Photoablation.” This is done using an excimer laser to reshape the layers that were under the cornea. The laser shoots out UV light to disrupt chemicals in the tissue locations.

Why Pick All-Laser LASIK?

We recommend the bladeless LASIK procedure because of the benefits it comes with. There is more accuracy with the laser while creating the corneal flap.

  1. When you use the femtosecond laser you are able to have more precision and control of the thickness.
  2. Another benefit is creating specific customizations such as size. The femtosecond laser can easily design parameters for the cornea flap
  3. More patients can qualify except for people with thin corneas, dry eyes, and high refractive error.
  4. Lastly, there will be improved customer experiences such as a faster recovery and better quality of vision.

Ultimately, choosing LASIK can lead to healthier eyes for a better quality of life. You will no longer have to worry about buying contact solution or new frames. Laser vision correction can help you regain your independence of sight and independence of life.
