7 Ways to Help Improve Your Skin Condition

Want to know how to improve your skin condition quick and easy? Read this article!

Taking care of your skin is very important for three reasons. First, it prevents or lessens the symptoms of diseases like skin cancer and eczema. Second, it makes you look young for longer—the best way to treat the signs of aging is to stop them from ever coming. Third, it gives you a confidence boost—feel loud and proud as you walk around town with youthful-looking skin!

Some people think that skin maintenance is out of reach. Spa treatments and salons can be very pricey, and not everybody can afford to do those regularly.

However, we’re here to tell you that there are several easy ways for you to take care of your skin that don’t cost much at all. They just take some mindfulness on your part. Check them out below:

1. Hydrate

The best way to have healthy, glowing skin is to always stay hydrated. As much as possible, you need to drink at least half a gallon (or two liters) of water per day. And no, the water from your cup of coffee or sweetened tea doesn’t count as water!

What does count as water, though, is water obtained from fruits and vegetables. Watermelons, cucumbers, tomatoes, and apples are just some of the many fruits and vegetables that have rich water content. Incorporate them into your diet for that extra hydrating goodness.

Your skin is going to love you for it.

2. Spill the Tea

…in your tummy!

Many herbal teas have powerful detoxifying properties that can help reduce wrinkles, treat dark spots, clear pimples and acne, and give you that youthful glow. A cup of tea day makes a world of difference on your face and your overall health. Plus, it’s just nice to sit down with a relaxing cup of tea!

For example, kombucha is a fermented tea that is made with sugar, bacteria, and yeast. It not only helps detoxify your skin, but also improves skin elasticity, brightens skin tone, smoothens wrinkles, and moisturized.

Other teas to look out for include green, black, oolong, chamomile, and lemongrass tea.

3. Exercise

You might think that having a sweaty face is bad for you, but it’s quite the opposite. When you exercise or do any type of physical activity, sweat excretes from your pores, taking along all the dirt and germs that get stuck in them. The more you sweat, the more you flush out gunk from your skin!

Additionally, sweat helps reduce stress and releases feel-good hormones. They help regulate your body and thus your skin as well.

4. Cleanse

You’d be surprised at how many people forget to wash their faces regularly. Washing your skin the minute you wake up and before you go to bed will help remove any dirt that has accumulated on it. Slathering your usual skincare products like toners, serums, and moisturizers will also help keep it healthy and smooth.

Just remember to go easy on your skin. If you exfoliate your skin too much, it can get irritated and painful to the touch. If your skincare products are too much for your skin, especially if you’re the sensitive type, it can cause a burning sensation and leave you with more skin problems than before!

Test out multiple products to see what works for you.

5. Take Supplements

Want to go the extra mile? Certain supplements are known to prevent breakouts and other skin problems.

Probiotics, for example, are good for those suffering from blemishes. You can either ingest them as yogurts as a yummy treat, make a homemade mask with yogurt and apply it directly to your face or just take them directly as probiotic supplements.

A lot of women also swear by collagen. Collagen is an animal protein found in the skin, tissue, tendons, bones, and cartilage. It can help improve your skin elasticity and delay the signs of aging considerably.

6. Put on Masks

No, we don’t mean masks that protect you from disease!

We mean those masks that are put on your face to help cleanse your skin. They’re pretty inexpensive and can be bought in almost any pharmacy or made with common ingredients at home. There are face masks that you apply with a brush, and face masks that are masks you put on your face. Both are pretty useful at clearing out your skin and can solve some other issues too, like oily skin or dry skin.

You don’t need to go to a spa to get a nice facial—you can have one at home!

7. Eat Properly

Some foods can cause a lot of trouble and disorder on your skin. Eating too much sugary (e.g., candies, cookies), salty (e.g., potato chips, crackers), fatty (e.g, fried foods), and dehydrating (e.g., coffee, alcohol) foods will lead you to have a poorer skin condition. It’ll bring a lot of toxins into your body that will put your organs into overdrive and bring toxins to the skin.

So, replace all of those refined carbs and saturated fats with unprocessed carbs and healthy fats. This will help flush out any toxins and leave your skin looking very nice and glowing. Couple that healthy diet with a ton of water and you’ve got a recipe for beautiful, unblemished skin.
